1. LAST SUMMER

Hi, I'm Clàudia and today I'm going to talk about my last summer. First I'm going to talk about my trip to England and then I'm going to explain about my holidays in Platja D'Aro. Let's start!

England:

Last summer I went to Plymouth, a beautiful town in the south of England. I stayed there for 2 weeks to learn English with some friends from my school like Anna Sala and Laura Solà, and my mother Àlex, as the group leader. There I met other nice people from different places and we became good friends too. In Plymouth I stayed in a very nice family. In the house, there were 3 French girls called Philippine, Margo and Fiona. They shared the same room and I stayed in the guest room, which was fantastic. Also, there was the family mother Lisa, her husband Louis, and their daughter Anne, and there were 2 puppies too, called Bala and Billy.

Every day I went to my school and I studied there all morning. The classes were from 9:00 to 12:30. Then we had a lunch time all the students together. After that we went to the afternoon activities with our group leader and other students from the school. Some days we went bowling, ice skating, to the aquarium or to the cinema. Other days we went for a walk around the town centre called The Barbican or to the shopping centre. Then we returned back to our families for dinner. And once a week we went to a disco with other people from different nationalities in the school.

On Saturdays, we spent all the day in an excursion outside the town.

Finally on Sunday we stayed with our families or we met our friends in the town.

My birthday is in July so this year I celebrated it there. My English family prepared a special dinner and I invited some friends. I had a great time and a delicious chocolate cake too.

I think I've learnt a lot and I had a very good time so I'm going again this summer!

Platja d'Aro

When I returned to Catalonia I stayed in Platja d'Aro with my family and friends in the apartments. My best friends there are called Estela and Georgina. They're from Barcelona and Granollers.

In Platja d'Aro we had fun every day. In the morning we went to the beach and to the swimming pool. In the afternoons we went shopping or we stayed together playing in the pool. It was fantastic. In the evening we had barbacoes in the garden, all the families together. We sometimes went out for dinner or for a walk by the sea, and on very hot days we swam in the swimming pool at night. It was fantastic.

In September, I went back to Banyoles to prepare for school.

So, this is my presentation about my last summer.

Presentation:

1) I think that the powerpoiunt help my presentation because if I have images is more easier for me.
2) I think that I show a little bitt the photos to the audience but not a lot.

Body language/eye contact:

1) I looked at the audience most of the time and I used the powerpoint to help me.
2) I stopped to separate the different parts of my speech because It's easier and I can breath for a moment!
3) I didn't do many gestures but I smile sometimes.

Structure

1) I intorduced my self and my topic because I think that is cumpulsory.
2) I organise my ideas before start because I think that is better and it's a guide to didn't forget anything.
3) At the beginning I use discoure makers but in the presentation I didn't use it.
4) I finished properly and slowly.

Content

1) I think that my information it was a little long because I have an exiting summer!

2) I didn't introduce interestering information for the audience.

Language

1) There are some important mistakes for example: I said a lot the word "well" and I talk sometimes with the present simple.

2) I use sentence linkers like and, but, etc.

3) I didn't use new vocabulary.

4) I use a lot of fillers! Especially well!

Pronounciation/ Intonation:

1) I think that I knew how to pronouce all the words, so I didn't had to ask to my teacher or to the dictionary.
2) I speak calm and slowly because I think that I can do it better if I go slowly than if I go faster.
3) I change my tone when the information its positive like: Let's start! Which was fantastic!...
4) I had some iterruptions but not a lot. If I saw an interruption I correct it. I think that I had this breaks because I'm nervous because in my house I didn't had anyone.

Self-Avaluation:

You are your teacher! What mark did you get? Well, I did some mistakes, and I speak with nervious but apart from that I think that I do it good, so my mark is an 8'5.


CLASSMATES

Adrià: He stayed in País Basc for 3 days.
Clàudia V: She went to Arcada, a camp with her friend Xènia T and her cousin called Montse.
Joan R: He went to Jordan with his family for 9 days.
Maria Port: She went to Andorra with her family for 5 days.
Cèlia: She stayed in France with her family and some friends.
Quim: He stayed to Tiana, a camp, with his friends: Eloi, Adrià and Jordi.
Elisenda: She went to the Pyrenees for about 4 days.
Núria J: She went to a summer school and she did theatre and music.
Laia T: She went to Croacia for 5 days.
Maria Pl: She met her friends and she play a lot of basketball.
Elisabet: She did tennis lessons the 2 first weeks of July
Xènia T: She went to camp called Arcada with her friends.
